In our opening scripture, Peter had ministered the Gospel to a group of people, and rather than give their hearts to Christ, the people wanted to kill him. That’s why it’s important that before you go out to preach, you intercede for the people you’re going to be ministering to; pray that your message will be accepted and won’t just be a witness against them.

BE QUICK TO ACT

Whatever instruction the Lord gives to you, whatever inspiration comes to you as you study the Word or listen to it preached and taught in church, respond swiftly. That’s the kind of faith-response that gets God’s attention. When you respond swiftly to God, He’ll always respond quickly to you as well.

THE BENEDICTION OF BLESSINGS

Often, when we hear the word “Bless,” not many understand what it means. To bless means to cause to prosper, to favour, to evoke successful outcomes. It also means to infuse with abilities.

So when you say, “God has blessed me” or when God says, “I’ll bless you,” like He said to Abraham in our opening verse, He’s saying, “I’ll cause you to prosper! I’ll favour you! I’ll evoke successful outcomes—successful results in the things that concern you—so that no matter what you do, no matter what happens to you or with you, it’ll turn out for your good.

LEARN TO LIFT UP YOUR HANDS

When you lift your hands to the Lord, you may have observed that sometimes, they seem to tremble somehow. They weren’t shaking that way before you started praying and lifted them to the Lord. But the moment you raised them, the anointing came on them, and they started shaking; it’s a signal of the touch of the Spirit at that moment. And if you recognise it and accept what the Spirit of God is doing, and how He’s getting your attention, a lot more could happen.
