WATER BAPTISM CLASS

This means baptism of infants by immersion.

Jesus said;

Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved but he that believeth not shall be damned.

Mark 16:15-16.

According to this scripture, believing is the prerequisite for water baptism. This suggests that infants cannot validly be baptised because they cannot think or believe.

However, comparing scriptures with scriptures, the bible shows that some infant baptisms can be valid.

The scripture says;

And the woman who hath a husband that believeth not, and if he be pleased to dwell with her, let her not leave him. The wife sanctifies the unbelieving husband, and the husband sanctifies the wife: else were your children UNCLEAN: BUT NOW ARE THEY HOLY.

1 Corinthians 7:13-14.

God is revealing to us here the New BIRTH’s influence on succeeding generations and spouses.

Every believer in Christ is sanctified/holy, and according to the scriptures, whatever seed/child produced in a marriage union between two believers is a GODLY SEED.

And did he not make one? Yet hath he the residue of the spirit. And wherefore one? That he might seek a GODLY SEED. Therefore, take heed to your spirit, and let none deal treacherously against the wife of his youth.

Malachi 2:15.

God is looking for a godly seed. Every child born to a Christian parent is a godly seed. The seed is godly, sanctified and holy because of the nature/their parents. This is upheld in 1 Corinthians 13-14, where the bible says that the unbelieving spouse and the children (who are not yet accountable) are sanctified by the believing spouse.

Note that this applies when the man or woman got saved after marriage. It does not apply when a believer goes to marry a non-Christian because he or she is in transgression.

The sanctification of these children by the believing parent qualifies them for baptism by immersion. Secondly, if any of such a child dies at that infant age, he/she will go to heaven.

Note again that baptism is not by sprinkling, as commonly practiced by some orthodox churches. It is a complete immersion, as has earlier been defined.

God can lay claim on such children because of this sanctification of the children by the believing parent spouse.

However, the parent has a role in ensuring that the children embrace salvation once they come of age. The bible says;

Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

Proverbs 22:6.

This is a guarantee from the Lord that as long as the children are raised in the nurture and admonition of the Lord, they will embrace salvation when they grow up.
