BE THE “BLESSER” AND THE GIVER

Sometimes it’s easy to think, “Since no one cares about me, I won’t care abut anyone!” Don’t be that way. Be the one to remember, care for, and love others! Be the first to love. Be the blesser and the giver. The blessing you get from receiving is less, compared to that which you get from giving to others. Jesus said, “…It is more blessed to give than to receive” (Acts 20:35)

IDEAS ARE YOUR CAPITAL

I remember when I started sewing; my dad had just given me a shirt, which was way bigger than my actual size. So I had to amend it to be able to wear it, and I did, using my mum’s sewing machine. Of course, it looked funny by the time I was through, but I had achieved something! As time went on, I learnt to cut properly and make neater seams, and I got better until I became convinced that if I had to be a tailor, I would be the best.

WHAT CAN YOU SEE?

Our opening scripture begins with the word “Behold,” which means, “See!” The same word is used in 2 Corinthians 5:17 it says, “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” Now that you’re in Christ, you ought to “see” that all things are now new. If that isn’t what you’re seeing, it means you’re looking at the wrong thing. You’re not supposed to see the old, weak, sickly, poor and struggling “you”; that person doesn’t exist anymore. You must see yourself differently now.

HAVE A WINNING MENTALITY

Those who grew up in homes where their confession was at variance with the thoughts in the opening text may have had it difficult to cultivate the kind of mentality Paul exhibited. They might have grown up listening to their parents say, “I can’t do this,” or “I can’t do that”; “there’s no money,” or “we don’t have enough.” But you see, this is the Spirit’s desire for you: to cultivate the “I can do” mentality.
